It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit
Although it might seem it's only for Microsoft-based environments, this tool allows you to connect to both Windows and Linux servers (physical or virtual) and collect both inventory and performance data from the system.
With MAP Toolkit you do not need to install any monitoring agent to the guest operating system and it provides support for multiple products (not only from Microsoft).
