It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Topology
The next part of the vDS configuration and settings is the Topology section, where there is a view of your vDS and port groups:
You will see the list of all ESXi hosts and their pNICs connected to the uplink ports on the right side and on the left, all your distributed port groups and the VMs connected to them.
This view can be handy to check the network connections and find possible problems, such as links that are down or blocked ports.
