Important control keys

To be able to work efficiently with Mind-Mapping software it’s important that you can add branches quickly and easily to a Mind Map. This is best done with the keyboard. So, you need to memorise the following control keys:

check.png Enter/space key: Adds a new branch on the same level. For example, if you’re at main-branch level, another main branch is inserted.

check.png Insert: Inserts a new branch at a deeper level. So, if you’re at main-branch level and press Insert, a new sub-branch is generated next to the branch you have highlighted.

check.png Remove: If you press this key, the highlighted branch and all sub-branches are deleted. You can tell if a branch has been highlighted by the blue box appearing round it.

tip.eps In the task info Task Pane MindManager has a tab marked Learning Centre. Here you’ll find video clips helping you to familiarise yourself with the program.
