Many people start looking at network access control solutions because of NAC's ability to enforce policies on the network.

Enforcement gives network access control teeth. When you create policies, you're outlining rules that you want users and devices on the network to live by. NAC enforcement gives you the ability to create a policy, and then make devices adhere to that policy.
