By assigning a password to a database file, you can limit access to authorized users. Note, however, that a password does not limit what a user can do with your solution, such as viewing your source code, once they open the file. When a database has a password, users are prompted for the password when they try to open the database. Here are the steps to set a password directly from Access. It's always a good idea to create a backup of the database file before assigning a password. Passwords can be used only with .mdb files.
