The Three Superpowers of the Stage
When you step on stage, you transition from being Clark Kent to being Superman. There are built-in assumptions that the stage brings to the minds and hearts of your audience that allow you to become more attractive and desirable to work with.
Authority
The first superpower of the stage is that it gives you authority. The fact that you are the one standing on the stage in front of them means you are in an elevated position compared to everyone else in the room. There is a built-in assumption that if you are on the stage, you know what you're talking about, you wouldn't be there if you weren't trusted already, and you are confident as a person. These are specific things that your audience is looking for in relation to solving their problems. I believe authority is probably the most important factor when it comes to building trust fast with a cold or warm prospect.
