Chapter 5The Irresistible Offer
I'd been working on my offer for six months. Every moment I had between clients, I would write the curriculum for my online course offer and envision how powerful it would be putting it out there in the world. The day came when I decided it was time to officially create and launch it! I booked a videographer and a studio to create the program. I spent three days in the studio delivering the best I could. My videographer edited everything, and we built out the online program.
As I approached the first promotion, I was nervous and anxious, but I was also really excited. I started promoting it on social media and talking about it everywhere. The promotion was designed as a three-part video series that led into an open-cart period where people could enroll. The surprising thing was that I ended up getting more than 600 people to sign up for the promotion.
I was so excited about how many people were going to potentially join the course and how much money I could make. I remember saying to myself, “I feel like I'm going to make more than $10,000 … no, hang on, I think I could make more than $100,000 based on how many people have signed up for this promotion!”
The day came when we opened the cart to the group of prospects, and no one joined. Absolute crickets. It came to day two, and I thought, “I'm sure people are going to join today,” but no one joined.
