Which Platform and Version?
This book primarily focuses on the parallel features available in Oracle8 and Oracle8i. We’ve noted specifically which features are available only for Oracle8i. In general, we’ve developed the examples on Unix platforms, but virtually all of the material is applicable to other platforms as well.
Note also that installation steps are platform- and release-specific, so detailed installation information is not included in this book. Consult the Oracle documentation for your own platform and release for this information.
