For a successful implementation of Oracle Streams for data replication, Oracle recommends that you follow certain guidelines or best practices. This appendix discusses these best practices.

Oracle Patches

Make sure that all the Oracle databases involved in Streams replication have the latest critical software patches applied for their platforms. Consult the My Oracle Support (MOS) website to acquire currently available patches. Consult MOS note 437838.1 for the recommended Streams-specific patches. Apply all the applicable patch set updates (PSUs) for your platform and environment.
