CHAPTER 13Streams Performance Considerations

Oracle has implemented numerous enhancements in Oracle 11g R1 and R2 to improve Streams replication performance. For a simple replication environment with a single source database and a single destination database, you may not have to modify any of the default settings. However, a number of things, such as, insufficient resources, incorrect configuration of various database and Streams processes parameters, transaction size and duration, and application design can adversely affect Streams performance and become bottlenecks in a complex and high-volume environment.
