Appendix C. Complete Call Flows

Throughout this text you have seen call flows that focused on certain aspects of a call. For example, in Chapter 7, “NCS (Network-based Call Signaling),” the focus of the call flows was on the Network-based Call Signaling (NCS) call signaling packets between the MTA and the CMS, whereas in Chapter 8, “TGCP and the PSTN Interconnect,” the focus was on the Trunk Gateway Control Protocol (TGCP), Sigtran, and Integrated Services User Part (ISUP) protocols, and in Chapter 14, “Multimedia Applications,” the focus was on the Common Open Policy Service (COPS) and Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) protocols.
