So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Rhodes, N., and McKeehan, J., Palm Programming: The Developer’s Guide, O’Reilly & Associates, Inc., 1999, 457 pages. The original introduction to application development in the Palm OS environment, including device, conduit, and desktop component development.
Stevens, W.R., UNIX Network Programming, Prentice-Hall, Inc., 1998, 1009 pages. The classic exposition of network application development using Berkeley Sockets; most of the concepts in this book apply to any platform, not just Unix.
Quinn, B., and Shute, D., Windows Sockets Network Programming, Addison Wesley Longman, Inc., 1996, 637 pages. Describes the theory and implementation of network application development on the Windows platform; most of the concepts apply to any network host platform.
