Copying and Transforming Images
Several methods are provided for copying rectangular regions between images. When copying between images with different color tables, the table of the destination image is filled with as many unique colors from the source image as can fit. In an 8-bit indexed image with a full color table, the rest of the colors are intelligently matched to colors already in the destination image.
