Rheology of polymer–carbon nanotube composites melts
M.R. Nobile, University of Salerno, Italy
Abstract:
The knowledge of the rheological properties of molten polymer–carbon nanotubes (CNT) composites is fundamental to the comprehension of their dynamics and microstructure. The linear viscoelastic behaviour of polymer–CNT composites has been found to be extremely sensitive to the interaction between nanotubes and polymer chains in the melt, dispersion state, aspect ratio and alignment of nanotubes in the nanocomposites. The rheological behaviour of polymer–CNT composites melts was also examined in steady-shear and uniaxial elongational flows, to investigate their processing conditions. Finally, the role of CNTs in the flow-induced ...
