Abstract:

A general review of carbon nanotube (CNT)–polymer fibres is undertaken in this chapter with main efforts focusing on the mechanical, electrical and sensing properties of CNT–polymer fibres. The review introduces issues related to the preparation of CNT–polymer fibres and orientation of CNTs, necessary to fully exploit the mechanical and electrical properties of CNT–polymer fibres. It is demonstrated that CNTs have great potential for a wide range of applications. Their large aspect ratio, excellent electrical conductivity and ultra-high mechanical properties ...
