I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Thin Slicing
Sometimes I recognize patterns and make conclusions that are based on imaginary facts. My gut feeling tells me to choose one option, but my decision gets corrupted when I over-analyze. I’m interpreting items that I don’t understand—with a little help from what I like and dislike, the stereotypes I know, and the rumors that I’ve heard.
Good decisions balance between awareness and intuition. To make a good decision, you need to simplify the question to consist of only the significant facts and the areas that you’re competent enough to analyze.
