I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Updating the parameter file
The parameter file is the main location that's used for defining parameter values for the PostgreSQL server. All the parameters can be set in the parameter file, which is known as postgresql.conf. There are also two other parameter files: pg_hba.conf and pg_ident.conf. Both of these relate to connections and security, so we'll cover them in the appropriate chapters that follow.
