It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works…
VACUUM cannot remove dead rows until they are invisible to all users. The earliest data that's visible to a session is defined by its oldest snapshot's xmin value, or if that is not set, then by the backend's xid value.
