3 DEVELOPING THE BUSINESS CASE
Before getting started on what goes into a business case, allow me to make some suggestions about how it might be structured. All organisations are different and a lot depends on your audience: is the business case aimed at your own team, your direct manager or senior management? If there is a standard template to use, naturally you should use it, whether it is short or long, in a report format, a table or a standardised PowerPoint® slide with key fields to fill in and so on. There is little point in preparing something that does not meet your management’s expectations or their management’s if that is to whom the business case will be presented.
