Conclusion
In Academia, I always felt the “truth” rested between the highly siloed disciplines. That’s why I wanted to write a multidisciplinary book blending qualitative and quantitative tools. I also felt that there was little movement forward in understanding human behavior because of the focus on singular connections, rather than on holistic theories of human behavior.
In academic social science settings, papers would often try to show that X causes Y. I always felt this was too simplistic and that social processes don’t follow this linear equation-like formats, but rather demonstrate a more complex, multidimensional, circular relationship.
