It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Tout en jonglant avec les architectures de réseaux neuronaux denses et la vision par ordinateur au pixel près à Stanford de 2011 à 2016, Andrej Karpathy a également travaillé au noir chez Google. Là-bas, il a bricolé et mis au point un système d'apprentissage de caractéristiques pour les vidéos YouTube. Il a ensuite décidé de devenir membre fondateur d'OpenAI, puis directeur principal de l'IA chez Tesla, où il a dirigé une équipe chargée de créer le système Autopilot.
On peut dire qu'il est l'un des meilleurs codeurs au monde. C'est aussi un habile manieur de mots qui compte près de 800 000 adeptes sur Twitter. Lorsque ChatGPT est apparu sur la scène, il a tweeté:
Le nouveau langage de programmation le plus en vogue est l'anglais.
Il ne plaisantait pas. Il ne s'agissait pas seulement d'une ode poétique au codage, mais d'un clin d'œil à un avenir où le fait de taper des invites en langage naturel pourrait faire apparaître du code informatique dans apparemment n'importe quelle langue. C'est comme si tu avais un génie bilingue dans ton ordinateur, prêt à transcrire tes souhaits en anglais en commandes codées.
Puis il y a eu un tweet qui a fait écho aux sentiments de nombreux développeurs :
