So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Generally, we use a decreasing number of hidden units for FNN. This means that in the first hidden layer we use the most hidden units and we decrease the number of hidden units with each additional layer. Often, the number of hidden units is divided by two in each step. Keep in mind that this is a rule of thumb and the number of hidden layers and hidden units should be obtained by trial and error, based on the validation results.
In Chapter 13, Network Internals and Chapter 14, Pretrained Models, we will introduce techniques to optimize the number of hidden layers and hidden units.
