Capacity

Now, the second parameter is the capacity. Generally, when you buy a battery, you will see its capacity in milliampere hour (mAh) or in ampere hours (Ah). This is a very simple term. Let me explain this term to you using an example. Let's say you have a battery with a capacity of 5 Ah. Now, if I draw 5 amperes continuously for 1 hour, then the battery will be completely discharged. On the contrary, if I draw 10 amperes continuously, then the battery will be discharged in half an hour. With this, we can also derive the overall power that the battery has using the following simple formula: Overall Power in Watts = Nominal Voltage of Battery x Overall battery capacity of battery in amperes
