In the preceding subsection, we measured the distance between cars in the bird's eye view. In this subsection, we will measure the distance between a car and the camera.
When we talk about distance measurement in this circumstance, we understand that before measuring the distance, we must have our camera installed at a fixed position and then take a photo from it to get two reference values:
- The height or width of the object in the photo, measured in pixels. We called this value H0 or W0.
- The distance between the camera and the object when the photo is taken. We called this value D0.
