Sometimes it feels like there’s an app for everything — think nachos, potato skins, chicken wings. Oops, wrong kind of app. QuickBooks Online is so app-happy these days that it’s even started labeling core features, like Sales, Banking, and Reports, as “apps.” Seriously? Let’s be clear: Those aren’t apps. Intuit, are you okay? And just to confuse you further, the actual apps have been relabeled as integrations.
In this chapter, I focus on actual apps: mobile apps that let you manage your books from your phone or tablet, and marketplace extensions that add new functionality to QuickBooks. I also cover automation tools that help you do more with less clicking, like creating rules for downloaded activity, converting paper and electronic documents into transactions, and importing lists and transactions.
