QuickBooks Online is powerful, but it’s not without secrets. Some of these secrets are small annoyances, while others can trip you up in ways that have long-term consequences for your business. Expecting the Rent to Go Up
QuickBooks Online is a subscription-based service, which means you never truly “own” it. You’re a renter, and yes, the rent is too damn high. Intuit adjusts pricing frequently — often once a year. Sometimes QuickBooks moves features around within the tiers, which can be a stealth price increase.
To its credit, Intuit has been pushing features like custom fields down to the Simple Start level, but in a severely limited fashion. These feature expansions are mostly teasers to tempt you to pay for more functionality at a higher subscription tier.
