Adding custom CSS styling

Shiny uses the Bootstrap framework for structure and styling. If you're new to CSS Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or are not familiar with Bootstrap, it would be a good idea to read the Getting Started guide (https://getbootstrap.com/docs/3.3/getting-started/) before attempting to apply your own styling.

To include your own CSS, you have a couple of options, but we will only show how to use the includeCSS() function and how to apply styles directly into HTML tags. The includeCSS() function is provided by Shiny and can be used to include a CSS file directly from the www directory mentioned in the previous section. Its usage is fairly simply.
