I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting started
The application for this chapter will be built from scratch and uses assets that can be found on GitHub at https://github.com/PacktPublishing/React-Projects/tree/ch1-assets. These assets should be downloaded to your computer so that you can use them later on in this chapter. For applications that are created in this book, you'll need to have at least Node.js v10.16.3 installed on your machine so that you can run npm commands. If you haven't installed Node.js on your machine, please go to https://nodejs.org/en/download/, where you can find the download instructions for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
