Throughout most of my life teachers and elders have told me that knowledge is power. I do not believe that knowledge is power—I believe it is only potential power. True power lies in execution. You must be able to execute—a deal, a plan, a goal, or a solution. Your dream opportunity to gain a taste of success will only become possible if you are able to execute.
Analysis Paralysis
Many real estate investors freeze at some point in their journey because they get caught in overanalysis or get scared to take the next step. They feel unsure and unable to make a decision because they think they need more information. I can understand that because most of us have been there at some point. Urs Ledermann addresses that uncertainty by being mindful, aware of our options, and being present in the moment.
The only way through this impasse is to act. Think about any example from sports. There comes a moment when a professional ski racer is standing in the starting gate and must stop analyzing the course ahead and push out of the starting gate or be disqualified. A professional basketball player has a split second when a teammate is open under the basket and the time is right to pass the ball to get the score. In soccer, a midfielder catches a momentary glance of the striker catching the last defender too far upfield and must execute a pass before the ref calls “offsides.”
