Customizing and Extending Solaris Bandwidth Manager Software
The Java and C APIs included with the Solaris Bandwidth Manager software enable you to develop your own JavaBeans plug-ins or applications.
The Java plug-ins are placed directly in the Solaris Bandwidth Manager policy agent. The applications either access the Solaris Bandwidth Manager software remotely, or exist on the same local machine.
Plug-ins
Java plug-ins can be developed to implement network usage policies. For instance, a plug-in can be developed to perform internal statistics monitoring and react to statistics events by instigating an action. The action could be to generate an alert, or to dynamically change the configuration of the Solaris Bandwidth Manager software.
