So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
6章LabelとAnnotation
Kubernetesは、アプリケーションがより大きく複雑になっていくのに合わせて、一緒に成長できるように作られています。この目的を達成するための基本的機能として、LabelとAnnotationは追加されました。LabelとAnnotationによって、アプリケーションについてどう考えているかをマッピングできる仕組みを使用できるようになります。アプリケーション内でグループを表すために、リソースを整理したり、目印を付けたり、相互参照したりできます。
Labelは、PodやReplicaSetといったKubernetesオブジェクトに付与できる、キーと値のペアです。Labelは任意に付けることができ、Kubernetesオブジェクトを特定するための情報を付与できます。Labelは、オブジェクトをグループ化するための基盤となる機能です。
一方Annotationは、Labelと似たストレージの仕組みです。Annotationもキーと値のペアですが、ツールやライブラリを便利に使用するために必要になる、オブジェクトを特定しない情報を入れられます。
6.1 Label
Labelは、オブジェクトのメタデータを特定するためのものです。Labelは、オブジェクトをグループ化したり、一覧表示したり、操作したりする際の基本的機能です。
