Today, we have provided you with an understanding of DATETIME values based on the fact that ANSI has provided a standard. However, as with many elements of SQL, most implementations have deviated from the exact functions and syntax of standard SQL commands. The concepts, however, will always remain the same as far as the basic representation and manipulation of date and time information.
