So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Identifying Data Dictionary Users
End users, system engineers, and database administrators all use the data dictionary, whether they realize it or not. Their access to it can be either direct or indirect.
End users, often the customers for whom the database was created, access the data dictionary indirectly. When a user attempts to log on to the database, the data dictionary is referenced to verify that user's username, password, and privileges to connect to the database. The database is also referenced to see whether the user has the appropriate privileges to access certain data.
