Perturbed Semi-Markov processes

Abstract

The chapter covers the application of the perturbed semi-Markov processes (SMPs) in reliability problems. Many kinds of the perturbed SMPs exist. Some of the simplest types are considered in this chapter. All concepts of the perturbed SMPs are explained in the same simple example. Moreover, an exemplary approximation of the system reliability function with an illustrative numerical example is presented in this chapter. The last section is devoted to the state space aggregation method.
