SM models of multistage operation

Abstract

Semi-Markov models of multistage operation are presented in this chapter. It is assumed that stages of the operation are realized in turn. An execution time of each stage is assumed to be a positive random variable. Each step of the operation may be perturbed or failed. The perturbations extend the operation time and the probability of failure as well. In this chapter, two models are presented: the first one concerns a multistage operation with possible perturbations of task execution at different stages, the second one concerns a multistage operation without this kind of perturbations.
