I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Searching Within PDFs
To enable SharePoint to search within PDF files, you must install the Adobe PDF text filter. This task requires administrative privileges, so you may need to ask a system administrator to do the following:
Download the PDF text filter (ifilter60.exe) from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2611 to the SharePoint server.
Run ifilter60.exe to install the filter on the server
You don't need to restart IIS for the changes to take effect. It may take a few minutes, however, for indexes to be generated for PDF files.
