So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This is a monumental work. It’s probably the most comprehensive book about embedded systems to date. And it is desperately needed.
Firmware is getting big. Some estimates peg firmware at 80% of the development cost of modern products. Whereas a few years ago a system with a few hundred thousand lines of code was considered huge, today it’s common to find multi-megaline code bases. Smart phones use tens of millions of lines and are spectacularly complex. Consumers figure 70% of the value of an automobile comes from the electronics – they’re buying code more than engines and wheels.
