This case study will look at software development and system integration metrics for a femto embedded system. A femtocell is a low-power, short-range, self-contained base station. Femtocells are essentially mini base stations for the home and small offices. The key attributes of femtocells include IP backhaul (voice traffic is sent off the internet), self-optimization, low power consumption and ease of deployment. Actual industry data is used to reinforce many of the techniques discussed in the case study.
