So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
HTTP and REST endpoints
Communication over HTTP is always better for interoperability, protocol handling, traffic routing, load balancing, security systems, and so on. Since HTTP is stateless, it is more compatible for handling stateless services with no affinity. Most of the development frameworks, testing tools, runtime containers, security systems, and more friendly towards HTTP.
With the popularity and acceptance of REST and JSON, it is the default choice for microservice developers. The HTTP/REST/JSON protocol stack makes it so easy and friendly for building interoperable systems.
