Using InDesign® Styles

InDesign® styles are a useful tool for streamlining the production process of any project, but especially for the production of publications consisting of many pages and sections. With the styles you create, you quickly can apply specified type styles to repeat elements.

CREATING PARAGRAPH STYLES

Open the Paragraph Styles panel—choose Type > Paragraph Styles. The default style is [Basic Paragraph], which is automatically applied to any text you type in the document. You can edit it but you can’t rename or delete it. It is best not to use it and instead create a new text style.
