Preface
For some years the authors have taught a course on the film industry at Wagner College in New York City and Metropolitan College of New York as part of the College’s Masters of Business Administration in Media Management Program. The content and structure of this book is based on that course. We wanted a single book that provided a linear overview of all aspects of the industry— with development, financing, production, distribution and marketing, exhibition, legal and business affairs— in an integrated way and from primarily a business, rather than creative, artistic, or legal perspective. So, we took up the challenge of writing such a book.
