PREFACE
A few years into my computer science degree at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), I signed up for an internship program. UTD is situated in the middle of what used to be known as the telecom corridor in Richardson, Texas. A friend told me the telecom companies were paying computer science interns much more than I could make as a waiter. So I could code and start making money doing it! I was in.
I was hired as part of a company’s Intranet Team, which sounds a lot more exciting than it turned out to be. We were responsible for keeping the company’s internal website up to date.
