Chapter 13: Accessories
By definition, accessories are nonessential items. In the fashion industry today, however, the status of accessories often rivals the importance of the garments themselves. Designers have several options when it comes to building accessories into the overall look of a collection. The styling option is to purchase or borrow from companies designing and producing accessory collections that complement their work. The licensing option is to partner with companies that will design and produce accessory collections specifically for their design collections. The in-house option is to design and produce accessory collections themselves.
