About Bangalore International Airport
Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) was established as a private public partnership (PPP) enterprise to build, own, and operate the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB). KIAB, which is the third largest airport in India, handled around 33.5 million passengers in 2018–19, during which period it was also one of the fastest-growing airports in the world. The shareholders of BIAL include Fairfax Financial Holdings, Siemens, the government of Karnataka, and the government of India. BIAL has embarked upon a massive USD 2 billion capacity enhancement program, scheduled to be completed and operationalized in 2022. The company is also developing a sustainable, smart, and vibrant airport city in its campus.
