When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Nine. Project: People
Here in Tampa, Florida, I am the co-organizer of a Meetup.com group for strobist photography (www.meetup.com/photocollective). Every month, about 60 or so photographers and models take to the streets of Ybor City to practice off-camera flash photography. After a couple of hours of shooting, everyone gathers back at a specific location to go over what they shot, chit-chat, and get some dinner.
During the Christmas holiday, we got together at a place called The Bricks in Ybor City. A cool bar/restaurant/coffee shop, the location is adorned with a lot of brick, hip patrons, and Chris Neely—the chef extraordinaire making sandwiches ...
