All the LEGO techniques we’ve seen so far have involved stacking bricks one on top of the other, with their studs pointing up. But if you look through the bricks that make up any recent LEGO set, there’s a good chance you’ll see some that have studs not just on top but on their sides as well, as shown in Figure 5-1. These bricks let you get away from the typical studs-on-top orientation and attach LEGO pieces sideways.
