I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

A software depot is a way of making a large number of software packages available to many hosts. UNIX has a tradition of a globally accessible /usr/ local/bin that is shared among all hosts in a cluster. Windows sites have a different tradition involving a repository of installable packages.
UNIX is known for providing a large number of tools to do various tasks. However, this number seems small compared with the number of tools that are available for free via the Internet.
