Developing as a leader is a journey. Becoming an ethical leader takes that journey even further. No one is the same leader or same person at age fifty that they were at twenty. Experiences, failures, successes, and maturation make you a different and, hopefully, more effective leader as your gifts evolve over time. The same can be true of your approach to ethics, as it can shift over time due to experience and growth. At the core, however, as Schweitzer notes, reverence for life should dominate all else and we suspect this is the bedrock of ethical leadership that is surrounded by additional skills.
