We hear terms like “company culture” or “organizational culture” frequently these days, particularly as organizations debate whether they will return to the office in the post-pandemic world. Usually, the term culture is brought up in the sense of “We have to maintain our culture, so we are coming back to the office,” or some variation on that idea. This implies that culture is a shaping factor, in that it has an influence on the behavior of employees and is crucial for business success.
