In Chapter 8, we began to explore a hierarchy of ethical leadership based on how one reasons about ethical and moral issues. In this chapter, we add to that concept by exploring the idea of a hierarchy of guiding principles. In other words, we suggest that in considering ethical leadership—which is closely connected to values—some guiding principles are “better” or stronger than others.
